Re: COW Mac OS X Build 60 - Out of memory error

...and I meant stack overflow. :)

It could also have a memory leak. That would be easier to test for.

Re: COW Mac OS X Build 60 - Out of memory error

Any response? Sorry, I missed your earlier response. As recursion is used to parse PGN files, overflowing the heap is more likely. Then the problem would be to find the game that has so many nested variations that it could cause such a problem. The program is written in Delphi so I'm not sure how t...

Re: COW Mac OS X Build 60 - Out of memory error

Hey Navid,

Needless to say, I've had the Macintosh version import some large PGN files as part of testing.

I'm not sure what would cause and "out of memory" error. Does the problem come up after you restart your Mac and run only COW for the import?

Re: Conversion of Barking Dog Tactics

I think this gets cleared up in the comments of the starting position of chess. You will want to jump to the named positions (puzzles).

Choose Go | Jump To Board Name...

Older ebooks to the 2016 format

Do you have ebooks in the legacy format, from Chess Openings Wizard? The new Chess Openings Wizard 2016 keeps ebooks in a new single-file .4MD format. To get your ebooks in the new format, run COW 2016 for Windows. (The Macintosh version will not be able to read older Windows ebooks.) Use File |Open...

Re: Conversion of Barking Dog Tactics

I'm not sure what you mean by seeing moves in the Barking Dog ebooks. Those ebooks don't have moves. They are tactics puzzles. You make a move to solve the puzzle. Those ebooks are also set to "Read Only" so that the moves you make are not saved (which would spoil the puzzles if you did th...

Re: Entering moves

Cannot right click a move and then delete it. The drop down from the old version does not appear. The pace of moves is slow I know that this is a new feature but how is it adjusted. Transferring files from old to new version, I guess that converting e book to game and uploading to the new version w...
