Re: Analysing a game
A related topic is "how to analyze a position." Sometimes an example works best. Suppose you go through an opening book and come to a critical position. You can play on in COW. You could also turn on your engine and play on. All your moves will be saved, both good and bad. I think there is...

Re: Chest exercises
CHESS excercises are certainly possible with Chess Opening Wizard (COW). I've made my own training opening books and use them to train. COW can also be used for endgame exercises. I bought a bundle of several endgame books from Everyman chess and have imported them into COW. For example, I imported ...

Re: pocketGM chess server
On the positive side, I'd like to note a success. I bought My Great Predecessors, by Garry Kasparov, at Everyman chess. That is $50 for five volumes. I imported it into Chess Opening Wizard Professional. While many Everyman opening books have flawed imports, this seems to have imported without error...

Re: pocketGM chess server
The pop up to evaluate the position (equal, slight edge to White, etc.) is only available when the computer is in landscape orientation. The start engine analysis icon is only avaliable in portrait orientation. Rotating the screen sometimes works reliably. When it doesn't, the screen is filled with ...

Re: pocketGM chess server
I get that a lot. I just try again and it usually works. Rather than go through the menu ("analyze with engine server"), I click on the icon that is to the right of the next branch button. Perhaps that is a little faster. I can see this button when the screen is in portrait mode. If I rota...

Re: Analysing a game
What command should I make to be able to analyze the game? baldi's basics I wasn't clear when I wrote "I started analysis." I used the "Start Engine" command visible in the analysis pane beclow the game board pane. That kick-starts your analysis engine, then you can go to the EP...

Re: Number of Candidate Moves - what does the "G" mean
P.S. This is a nice feature when you want to add a new game to an existing Ebook and you don't want to lose track of the new game. Proceeding move by move, play the move that contains a "g." For further visibiilty, the drop-down menu by the candidate move is indented. You should play the e...
