Ebook creation

Post by bbrockva »

I created a new ebook called "nimzo" and imported 9 GM games discussed in a book I have. I made a pgn database in chessbase and imported that into nimzo. As I ckick through the moves when I get to 4... the window shows ...Nc6, c5, and d5, with no numbers so I assume that means 1 of the games in the database I imported has that for the 4th move. Also shown last is 0-0 with "4" after it. In the database, Nc6 and c5 have one game each, d5 has 2 games, and 0-0 has 5 games, for a total of 9 games. COW's window is showing only 7 games, it looks like. So, why don't the numbers of games equal, or am I missing something? Also, shouldn't the most-made move, 0-0, be listed first or how does that work?

When importing PGN, the first move encountered for each position becomes the first candidate move.

The moves are not displaying game information (number games for instance). I'm not sure what the '4' is but if you backsolved then it might be the number of unique variations beyond that candidate move. That could mean one unique game for each unique line but that won't always be the case. For example, you can add a new move at any time that has never appeared in any game.

Likewise, the positional database is not storing "most made in games" information.

You can, of course, change the order of the candidates by moving them up and down with the drop down menu to the right of each move.

I think this gentleman was describing an ebook he made himself using nine games that he chose. That's easy to do with any collection of games.
