It depends on whether you are using Express or Professional and whether you are using Windows or Macintosh. Last week build 80 was released for COW Pro for Mac.elirub wrote:Excuse me is not the last version of COW 2016 build 69, or am I missing something?

Re: Latest Version
The automatic emails announcing new versions often end up in spam folders.
You can always check the web site or log in for the latest versions.

Re: Latest Version
I am using build 81 on windows 7x64 with an ~6G database.
Neither <backsolve> nor <about this book> ever return (waited for 1/2 hour for backsolve to report that it was doing something). Backsolve is being ran from the current position and doesn't return even when there is only one node to backsolve. Performance tells me that COW is reading .5M/sec and writing nothing.

Re: Latest Version
i've never encountered this slowdown. Did it start happening suddenly? Or did it get worse as the database grew to 6GB in size?

Re: Latest Version
The DB was 6 GB when created.

Mike:
I might have found the problem. Build 81 doesn't handle repeating positions.

Mike:
I did a little testing and found something else that might relate to the problem. The backsolve progress window reports the number of positions from the last, small, opened database.
Hope that helps.
