Re: Latest Version
If you want a better program at a lower price with support try Chess Position Trainer.
Re: Latest Version
Not sure about this since Chess Position Trainer doesn't look very active either. Has anyone in the US tried ringing Mike to see if everything is ok?Bogg wrote:If you want a better program at a lower price with support try Chess Position Trainer.

Re: Latest Version
He answered my e-mail promptly, so if you have an issue or question, try that.
Re: Latest Version
Mike has said that the only sure way to contact him is to post a comment here. He generally tosses his mail because he receives so much junk.
CPT doesn't see much action because it has fewer bugs. The only bug I have found in several months of constant usage was a design choice. If you want to see a lot of action stay with Mike, there will always be plenty of bugs to be fixed.

Re: Latest Version
Does anyone have the ALT key not working in build 181?
I reverted to 176 and it is fine.

UPDATE - typo, I meant 'reverted to 167'GreaneKnight wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 8:17 am Does anyone have the ALT key not working in build 181?
I reverted to 176 and it is fine.
also, this is still an issue in build 183,
so I went back to 167 again
Re: Latest Version
The Alt key issue is a known problem with the latest versions. The makers of Delphi (my dev environment) are working on it.
Re: Latest Version
The latest version restores sanity to the Alt key shortcuts. Thanks for your patience!GreaneKnight wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 8:17 am Does anyone have the ALT key not working in build 181?

Re: Latest Version
Being here rather rarely, I can just hope my question to be at the right place, if not, please move it there, dear moderators.
Latest Professional- version from yesterday (build 197) has output of engine in multiPV=3- modus, can that be changed to single primary again too? Tried UCI- parameter MultIPV=1 in engine's preferences (Startup Commands), which didn't work.
Is analysis of exported .epd- files now run in multiPV- mode also?
MultiPV=3 slows down analysis of .epd- positions quite badly. Guess, I'd rather downgrade my version, if there isn't any workaround to choose single primary variant too, at least for .epd- backwarding, regards

Re: Latest Version
Could anybody give a link to download last but one Professional version (build 196), please?
Don't have it stored anymore and need to downgrade from 197, MultiPV=3 is way too hardware- time consuming for me for analysis of databases and even for .epd- files bigger then 100 positions out of opening and early midgame.
If I wanted MultiPV- mode I could already get it by Startup Command
setoption name MultiPV value x
. Couldn't at least MultiPV value 1 be set to work again in next version?
Till then I'd prefer not to use build 197, regards
