Q: I'm getting a user32.dll error with Windows 10.

A: The user32.dll error comes up with Windows 10 when some windows are opened. It has never been known to cause a problem (other than being annoying). It's another good reason to move up to the 2016 version.

Q: Can I get the 2016 version?

A: Yes, if you have the legacy version (Express or Professional) then you are entitled to the new 2016 version at no charge. Your product key is the same. Log in at http://www.bookup.com/login to download the installer for the 2016 version.

Hey Eric,

I've seen one other case of an ebook that caused Backsolving to stop responding for a minute or so. Can you send me a copy of your ebook so that I can test it here and compare it to the other one I have with the same issue? If you can, email it to mike at bookupmembers dot com

As a fellow user, I will try to offer replies.

Bess,
Backsolving can take a while. However I don't think it has ever caused my computer to hang up. Backsolving has various options. One is "starting position of chess." I never use this as it seems too ambitions. I always use "current position." I suggest you try to reduce the scope of the backsolve, if you can, to make it more manageable.
The only backsolve problem I've had is that a position that repeats gets a little circle evaluation. I can't seem to override it. Besides, I can consider a repetition to be equal.

I use COW Professional build 132 on my Windows 10 computer. You should be able to go to Bookup.com/home and find a path to log in and upgrade, using your product key. To find your product key, go to the initial COW window, go to the Help command, then select "About Chess Opening Wizard ..."
