Training - computer plays white

I'm trying to use the COW training feature. I have two ebooks set up: one for my white repertoire and one for black. When I try to use training with my black repertoire ebook and set "computer plays white", the program closes when I click start. It works fine with my white repertoire book with "computer plays black" setting. Anyone else encountered this issue with "computer plays white" setting? Is there a workaround? Thanks
