Congratulations on Chess Opening Wizard Build 153!

Post by FreeRepublic »

I have this up and running. Converted files work as expected. The additional features are significant.

It is easy to be productive with BookUp/Chess Opening Wizard. It's an environment where one can instantly concentrate on chess. On the other hand, it is hard to take advantage of all the features that have been added to COW over the years. In fact some form of chess player's handbook on COW features would not be amiss.

It seems that much of the on-line chess world is moving to multimedia, including video. While this does not work for me, I understand that many users relate better to that approach. The addition of audio to COW will certainly be useful for many users. I may even adopt it some day. It may also stimulate content providers. As to video, let's face it, many masters and grandmasters are not nearly as telegenic as the few young WIM who present on-line. Not everyone benefits from video.

There have been many feature requests in the Experts Forum. I look forward to implementation of some of these additional features in next year's release!

I doubt content providers will flock to COW. Chessable has a huge edge in that regard.

But I concur with you regarding a handbook. It would be nice to have a reference manual/handbook. But I think the "Videos" section is intended to assist in this area.
