Typing Moves

Post by Akopian »

Back in the very old days of Bookup it was possible to quickly type in moves. I probably went through dozen of books and then would read them (or really play through them) using bookup (I would try to guess the next move all the way through). It was even easy to quickly type in the comments and within a few days I coould have the whole book available to play through in bookup format with all the text. Sadly, that no longer seems possible.

So I have been looking for and not really finding at least an easy interface for a pgn entry program that did something so unsophisticated (but fast) as allowing typing in moves and comments in a reasonably formatted form. I am resisting for now learning all the notation of straight up typing it myself. Besides that could get pretty complicated to edit and make sure it was error free for import if I just straight up typed it in say notes,

Is there such a thing, I would be very pleased. Moving the mouse is slow and I have to look at every single move as I put them in that way, I can type much much faster without even looking up, (By the way, if you are noticing typos right now, it is because I am writing this on my ipad without a keyboard,

Also if an entry feature could be added back into COW that would allow the typing of moves, that would be great too. Unless there already is a way to do that in COW and I have overlooked it. In which case, pleae tell me what I need to do.

There should be a move entry box in COW just like the one in Bookup. It has the word "Move" to the left of it.

I just checked COW build 160. The move box is still there and works.
