P.S. Did you reach this page and you’re wondering what MasterChess is? Basically it’s a poor man’s version of ChessBase and Fritz rolled into one. (It does around 85 percent of what those two programs do, functioning as a PGN database and a playing opponent with clever strength adjustments.) It’s been around since 1998 and it was distributed on DVD with millions of games. The new version for 2025 runs on Macintosh and Windows and it will be available as a download.
